Baking and Cooking Conversion Chart

In my Boston kitchen, I have access to my favorite stainless steel measuring cups and spoons, as well as my Kitchenaid mixer, blender, food processor, etc. Here in my French kitchen, I've learned how to be a minimalist cook and baker. I basically use a large stainless steel bowl, stainless steel measuring spoons (sans cups), a few wooden spoons, 1 spatula, and a scale (in grams). 

 

Without my measuring cups, I find myself constantly having to convert from Cups to Grams (darn us Americans for not using the metric system like the rest of the world!). To help you convert from American to Metric, I've converted some of the most basic baking items for you.

TEMPERATURES





To calculate yourself:
1. Take the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit and subtract 32.
2. Divide by 1.8.
3. The result is degrees Celsius.
